Default explorer temperature sensor

where is the temp sensor located on the explorer for the overhead? any pics?

My buddy is looking for one we went to the yard and he pulled an OHC but we couldn't find the temp sensor

its in the front , driver side on the radiator support right behind the grille. has a blue/white and blue/yellow coming out of it

theres a another one that looks identical to it, but its got pink/black and i forget what else, either will work tho

No, either one will not work. You need the one from the driver's side of the radiator support, with the blue/white and blue/yellow leads. The other sensor, typically found on the passenger side of the radiator support, is for the explorer's EATC system (if so equipped). The two sensors are not identical, nor interchangeable. EATC will not work properly with the OHC sensor, and the OHC will not work properly with the EATC sensor.

I don't know what you have wired in your truck, nor how well it functions.

I do know what is in the Ranger/Explorer Workshop Manuals, and what my personal observations and tests show on the two parts. Why would you think that Ford would create two "interchangeable" sensors, with different part numbers, different color coded wiring, and different resistance measurement curves?
