Default Water Leak

Hey, I notice i have a water leak in my truck. The leak is on the top just above the rear window. The leak is veryy slow and it only shows on the interior when it rains a lot. I am wondering where are some common places that it usually leak at.. And i am also wondering whats the best way to seal it.. Well cheapest! I see signs of the leak just above the rear window on the inside. So it could be coming from the top of the rear window. But not sure because its very sloww.

Two common places for Rangers to leak are the third brake light and the seal on the rear window. The third brake light is easy enough to fix with a little silicone. I've seen mention on here about people resealing their rear window, but don't really know what all is involved in that.

Well i removed the third brake light. And i could not really tell if it was sealed good. But it seemed like it was fine. But how would i seal the third brake light? I just want to go ahead and reseal it just to see if that's the problem or not. The truck is also a 97" and i have not reseal nothing yet.

But what will i use and how will i reseal the third brake light? Also i am wondering how do i reseal the rear window? Do i need to remove the interior on top of the ceiling and put some kind of silicone there?

This may sound crazy but I know a body shop that uses plumbers putty. Seems to work well.

I haven't really had the time, space and $ but I think that's my problem too, b/c I get water on the floor board especially in heavy rains.

Well i see any water in the third brake light..So i don't think it is leaking from there... It has to be on-top of the rear window were its leaking from.

Not sure, I know if you remove the sun visors and dome light it will drop down in the front. Not sure if there is anything keeping it up in the back. Maybe the trim pieces along the sides of the cab?

Oh, Well I need to remove the back.. Yeah i think the side cab things are holding it up like you said.. I am just going to have to play around with it to se how to remove it.. I just need the back part thats above the window so i can put some type of silcone there.

Water follows gravity, chances are its puddling some where and seeping in. You might be able to silicone it up on the inside but chances are the water will sit on the silicone and rust your window frame. You really should have the window taken out and resealed. You can do it yourself, but after watching a pro do it, then trying myself, there is a definite technique that I lack.

Well my truck does sit slanted in my drive way. And the way sometimes piles up on my cover. So the rain could be coming in threw the third brake light like said above....
Yah i just got a new front window put and and i seen a pro do it.. I do not have all the tools and stuff to do it.. Soo im not going to even go that route.

I noticed a drip the last time I ran the truck through the car wash. I took the 3rd brake light off and sealed it up nice with some silicone sealant. I don't have an update as of now, but if it still leaks, I will post up.

back windows are easy well easier than front i let the pros do the front but the back window is just held in by the rubber one edge inside the other outside window in between, you can tuck a thin rope all inside the rubber with 2 ends coming out get the window in there set the rubber and start pulling the rope out slow as it all starts to pop in place. it basically pulls the lip out!
