Default Heating A/C control not sending air up/down

had alternator and batt go out - got it fixed at dealer

now noticing the AC heat control the knob on the right that selects A/C heat def etc it goes off and on but the air flow no longer changes

any help on what the problem may be?

Sounds like someone may have knocked off a vaccume line to me. Start looking for a removed or broken line.

Vacum Line - seems to be the most common answer - I don't have my repair book yet - I don't really know where to look...

but will look to see if I see anything loose..

I agree with the vacuum line theory. I bet the mechanic knocked it off replacing the alternator. When you lose vacuum in the hvac the system defaults to defrost for obvious reasons.

1) the dealership should take care off it.

2) there is a vacuum reservoir ball with 2 lines to it in the engine bay. On my truck it is on the passengers side not far from the alternator. Check yours out.
