Default Anyone know where the ABS fuse is?

I've been having issues with the ABS kicking in while stopping and I think I'm ready to just be done with the ABS. And I believe it's we king my brakes. Cuz now I have a messed up rotor which I have to replace.

Does anyone know where the fuse is for it so I can take it out. I've yet too look in the Manuel but thats what I'll be doing right after this.

I would think fixing the problem would be a better idea.

It's just an unnecessary convenience that I frankly don't want. Especially if it's gonna cost me time and money to fix. Like having heated seats in Texas.

Could be a simple fix though.

It could be. I'm betting its the sensor in the Ft/Pass wheel hub cuz I had to replace the other one a few months back but. But the hub still seems to be in good condition. So I'm gonna replace my rotors and pads and I'll check out the hub and the sensor then. If that's not the problem I'm going to pull the fuses out. At least until I find out for sure what the issue is.

I heard that it's the rear sensor that usually fails...

Yeah I've heard from a few people that the early 2000's have issues with ABS.

But today I went ahead and pulled out the fuses and guess what? Problem solved. lol I can actually come to a complete stop when I want to with out worrying that the ABS will totally release my brakes. Which has happened and is pretty scary when there is another vehicle 5ft in front of me.

Now I just gotta get new rotors and pads.

I disconnected mine also, the Ranger ABS systems are poor at best, they basically render your whole braking system useless if one wheel slips a little bit, my stopping distance is much better now in snow

In my 9 years working on Fords at the dealership, I never saw a Ranger rear sensor fail. Plenty of front ones, but no rear ones.

Most likely a front sensor. Does the wheel turn one way or another when you're having the issue?

Yeah it pulls to the left. I replaced the front driver wheel hub cuz I was grinding but I haven't replaced the other one because it seems to still be in good shape. But my guess is that the sensor in the front pass is the one causing the problem.

When I do actually replace that hub I may look into the ABS again but its doubtful cuz I don't actually like ABS.

I haven't disconnected mine but I also find that one wheel slipping a little bit causes the ABS to kick in and make the entire braking system turn to shit. It should only affect the wheel that slips, right? I wonder if others have this issue as well.
