Default Radio Bezel Repair

Somebody had apparently tried to pry the radio bezel off the wrong way. So I picked up the radio removal tools, popped the radio out, and pulled the bezel correctly. Sure enough, both fasteners on the right side had been busted off.

So I rummaged around and found a plastic rod (from an old hanging plastic planter), cut a couple of short pieces, filled the hole in the old mounting peg with superglue, and mounted the fasteners via the rods.

Let it dry for an hour or two and reassembled. So far it looks great. Hopefully the glue joints won't bust loose from vibration. Time will tell. Here's a link to the pics.

Looks good nice fix

I guess they didnt know it was held on by 2 screws and just started prying it off?

If the glue ends up breaking loose. Go to autozone and get some plastic weld stuff super strong

Actually one of the screws was missing so my guess is they pulled the screws and assumed that was all holding it in. Started yanking and busted the fastener tabs.

Folks don't get that you should rarely have to use excessive force, especially with things like interior parts. If it doesn't come off easy once you've removed all the fasteners, start looking for fasteners you missed.
