Re: Armrest console: I hate it!
This is one of the repairs I eventually have to do. The lid on my center arm rest is broken. I agree about the cheapness of the build but it is what it is. I need to get the thing ready for State Safety Inspection ready first though so this drops down on the things to do list a bit.

My exact same question, I posted a picture earlier in this thread of the only torx screw that holds it onto my driver seat, the thing is though that I have tightened it before and it did nothing!

Re: Armrest console: I hate it!
Problem solved!
My armrest was always in the way, the lid was broken, and my sub was always hitting it.
I ripped out the armrest, flipped the sub in the box, gained a bunch of room and WAY better bass. I win

I have these seats and center console. Trying to figure out how to tighten down the console. b/c it shakes and when I have a drink or somethig in the cup holder it of course tips over and spills all over.
How do I get at the bolts to tighten it down?

As I started taking it apart to figure out what bolts held it down I discovered that the plastic tabs for the front two screws were broken and on the back metal plate was broken. So I just ripped it out. I might build a custom console out of wood or maybe look for a 60/40 driver side seat.
I'm having a hard time letting go of this truck. It's running strong despite the fact that I am going to need new tires. The front left corner is dented it and I have red duct tape holding the hazard lights in and the front bumper is bent, and every time it rains it gets wet inside.
It's been a great little truck. I'd rather get rid of my focus except my full time job commute in my truck would eat up gas and I already have a van my wife drives that cost's me $50 every two weeks (I make her go on a full tank for two weeks b/c of pay period and limit her driving to errands and neccessary things).

Did you ever get ANY help with fixing the console for 60/40 seats?
Everything in this thread seems focused on the bucket seat console. The lid on mine is busted up pretty good.

Re: Armrest console: I hate it!
My driver door amr rest hurts my arm and I causes me to curse at it whenever I drive the truck. But I don't know what could be done to modify the position and angle to make it comfortable. Someone might consider taking it on as a project. First, find a vehicle with a proper rest and attempt to duplicate it. I have some leather and donno if next step is to fabricate a fiberglass frame to be attached somehow at the door. Unfortunately, the door grab (part of the discomfort problem) is in the way as is the handle. Anyone have an idea?
