My door ajar light stays on no matter what and its been doing this for the longest time. Even if i open all of the doors and close them it still wont go off. I don't want to take out the light that goes to it because i would like to know if my door is actually open.

Well, seeing as most vehicles have those little buttons on the doors that usually push in to signal that the doors close, rangers dont.

Does anyone know how it senses when the door is open and might know what the problem is? I don't want to pay ford 100$ to replace a wire..

the sensor is in the door latch itself take some wd-40 and soak the latch down with it open and close the door a few times and it should fix it......

In all of the latches? Does the sensor just get stuck or something?

yeah it gets stuck with dirt and junk just spray with wd 40 open and close and it should go off... if not then you will have to replace the whole latch....(or maybe just the sensor) oh damn i cant remember not enough sleep the last few days......
