I mounted my Cb there tonight, and didn't have much room to play around with because my dad gave a different Cb. Itts a real nice Cobra. I had to cut the ends off the mounting bracket, and just use the two ends with some speed clips. But I dont think you could relocate your airbag switch, or if you did it would be a trick.

Im sure you could cut the wires and then add wire to it and make it longer to relocate some where else.

Once u pull the switch from the cubby deal you just tuck it up under the dash out of the way

so it's the plastic boot that's hitting? from what i read you can take the plastic boot off and use a leather one. think that would help any? looks like the same 29ltd radio i have just not in the bluetooth model. that's exactly where i want to put mine too

Its actually the stick the is hitting it the rubber boot is pushed all the way up against it too. And its not the bluetooth model its just the limited edition, but its a great radio. Do you kno if they make different style brackets to mount it? Is your truck a stick?

My truck didn't come with the ashtray or cubby in it so i mounted it right there. there are two screws holding the plastic in underneath so i took them out and got some longer ones from the hardware store. i then took a peice of metal and screwed it up underneath and bolted my cb bracket onto that. this way the radio is out of the way of one of the cup holders and the glove box also clears just fine.

If you unbolt the airbag part it would fit right in there.

Ok guys some great ideas there, now on to the antenna, ??
a used Cobra 29 or Uniden 66 are about a dime a dozen here in the trucking world, or pretty cheap on E-bay. Peaked & tuned by a good radio guy they will put out around 10W (4W stock) with lots of swing (modulation) The little Cobra 19s and others are OK but wont put out much wattage or modulation. Even when peaked & tuned.
I use a Stryker SR440 HP in my big truck (2005 Kenworth T2000)

i would get a little wilson magnet mount and put it dead center the cab and if you ever need the clean look stick it to the bed wall behind the cab. that way you dont get some a$$ hole come along and steal it or just jack it up!!!

best bet is to unbolt the airbag switch assembly, then remove the airbag switch itself from the plastic assembly, put the plastic assembly you removed from the switch in a safe place in case you want to put it back on in the future, then tuck the airbag switch up under the dash out of the way. or, if you want, you can remove the airbag switch all together BUT you will have an indicator light in the dash on all the time, so just remove the switch and tuck it under the dash while still connected.
