Default Rearview mirror install..

So my rearview mirror got knocked off tonight and I don't quite know how to put it back on.. The mount with the ball is still attached to the windshield, and the rest of it came off. I tried just pushing it back on but I don't really want to push too har to get it back on, because I have awful luck and I will probably crack my windshield. That will then allow this winter to put a jignormous crack which will in turn need replaced, and I dont feel like blowing 250 on a new windshield..

So simply put, how do I remove the mount from the windshield?

I tried lifting it (with a folding knife that I have in my center consol) but I wasn't getting anywhere with that..

Make sure you put it on when it's 60 or so, or in a heated garage. I've had trouble mounting them in the winter. And use proper rear view mirror mounting glue.

Well luckily the mounting tab is still up on the windshield cause it isn't gonna be 60 here again for a while.. its like 2 days from single digits.. okay its not that bad yet, but it sure as hell isn't gonna be 60 till next year..
