Default Seatbelts

I,m replacing the seats in my 2000 Ranger with seats I purchased from a 2004 Ranger. As I was told by the seller the seats bolt in perfectly, however the seatbelts are different. Before I start torching and welding I was wondering if anyone had found an easier solution

you should be able to unbolt the seat belts and bolt in the new ones, or swap your old ones on the new seats

Yea the seatbelts are heavily bolted to the floor, not the seats, so they should be fine.

no the center seat belts are NOT bolted to the floor only the 2 short ends for the driver and passenger side seat, the seatbelt unit is mounted in the door post

Ok, I'm trying to say they aren't mounted to the seat. Floor, side post, etc. Not the seat.

Center seat belts ARE bolted to the floor...

I assume since it's a seat swap, the 'belt ends' in question are the female plugs right? Those are bolted to the seat frame and come out with the seats. Roll up the fabric some...Takes like a T40 socket and they unbolt. Just one bolt. Swap 'em out for your original ones for your shoulder belts and you'll be good to go.

Yours should look a little different...01+ have a spring loaded thingy that sucks the belt latch down to hold the driver in place when an airbag is triggered. Here's some visual aide...

*all you gotta do is fold back the fabric some. I was scrapping my stock seats so i had a seat autopsy.

I'm glad you posted that picture. ATTN EVERYONE. See that black horizontal canister and associated parts with the wires going to it? That is the pyro for the seatbelt pre-tensioner. Do not mess with it.

Default Problem solved

Thanks for the replies I was able to unbolt the seatbelts and reuse the bolts to secure the new seatbelts. The hardware didn't match up but I went to the auto parts store and bought some nuts, and washers. My original seats did not have the airbag accessories which made it a bit confusing
