How do you remove the center console in a 95 Ford Ranger XLT?
I have a 95 Ford Ranger and the center console broke. I want to remove it but I cant see any screws that hold it on the driver seat. It is a stock center console and the lid open toward the passenger. Does anybody know how to remove the center console? Any help would be nice.

i can do it but for some reason couldnt explain it to you for the life of me. buy a haynes manual and see if it is in there.

i had no idea how to get mine out, so i literally used a metal saw and cut it out. After i realized that there were small allen screws holding it in. I liked my method better, haha.

Inside there is a plastice cap on the side, right about where it pivots. If you get in there with a light you will see it. take a screwdriver and pop it off. Under it is a torx head bolt. Lefty loosey and WALAH!

If you lay the driver seat and passenger seat back as far as they go.
There is a plastic deal that covers the hinge. pull that back out of the way
There is a torx screw that hold it on one on each side

I have the same model ranger with the same problem, don't wanna saw it off, just want to remove it and put it back on later. I know exactly what your talking about with the torx screw, and I have unscrewed it once before, but to no avail the console didn't come off. Someone should make a how to video for us idiots who can't figure it out

Did u un screw the torx screw on both sides?
Once they are both out it will slide right out

Both sides? Is there another one connecting it to the passenger seat? I can only see one

I was going to say, Get a buddy with Ranger, hook up a heavy duty chain around the console, hook up the other end to your buddy's trailer hitch and PULL!

Sorry for the huge picture, that's the only bolt in the center console in my 95 XLT

This is probably the wrong place to post this, but I'm looking for a center console for my 95 mazda B4000, tan in color. I bought a console from a guy online and sure enough, it didn't fit my truck.
If anybody knows where I can find this, PLEASE HELP! I would also be willing to trade the one I currently have (pictures available on request)

I am looking for the retaining ring that goes over the bolt that holds on the center console for my 96 Ranger XLT. Does anyone know where to get this part? or what it is actually called?

1996 Ford Ranger xlt. I bought this truck new in nov 1996. It has 107,000 miles on it. I will never buy another one. It has been the best truck ive ever owned. Im 58 now so hope to keep it a long time.
