The lid won't stay shut all the way and the latch pin (plastic and poorly designed) is broken at the base. Can the whole console be replaced? Is there any hope?

Yeah, you can replace the whole thing. I think I got one off ebay. The dealer wants way too much for one. If memory serves, there are just two bolts holding the arm rest/console on under the plastic covers that hide the steel support arms. The covers slide up.
