Default Glove box

Has anyone added a light to the glove box? Do Ford make one for the Ranger?

My glove box has a light in it. I really don't know how it is attached or anything because I have never looked at it. What year is your truck?

There's no light in the glove box for the same reason there's no lights on the sun visor mirrors or the power window/lock switches ....

No reason whatsoever, other than Ford simply being cheapskates with the Ranger.

They ditched the glovebox light when they changed the interior wiring in 04. same time they ditched map lights and cargo lights and moved the fused box to the floor and left you with a door with nothing behind it on the left side of the dash. so 03 and older would be your donor vehicle. Explorers too. And those are crowding junkyards right now.

Ok, Thanks for the info. but why did they change the wiring? I'd rather keep all the lights. IMO they are needed.

I havn't a clue at all why they changed wiring and axed some features. What was wrong with it in the first place to cause them to change? Absolutely no clue. worst part is.....prices keep going up and up, all while they're eliminated some nice features, like glove box light, cargo lights in the third, map lights, and now, they're starting to ditch inner fender flap things on the bedsides.

Don't ask why. This is Ford we're talking about. All you'll get out of thinking about it is a headache.
