hey. i got a 2000 xlt super cab with power locks and windows. i bought it used in 2007 and it came with one button fob. i'm pretty sure the fob is from the factory, but i may be wrong.

when we got it the battery was dead so that was replaced but it didnt do anything for the truck. i wasn't worried about it so i just forgot about it until recently. now i'm of the mind that if i can get it to work why not use it?

i've tried reprogramming it according to the owners manual. i got the truck in program mode and pushed the button. but it won't program. the light comes on whenever the button is pushed but the truck doesn't react at all.

any advice? or do i just need to go to the dealer?

the back of the fob says UltraGuard and fccid: elvat8a

I bet you could get one on eBay and program it

That isn't the factory key fob. Like STL said pick ya up 1 or 2 off eBay and then program them.
