This thread reminded me I need jumper cables. Wow, I didn't even realize I didn't have jumper cables, I always just figure I'd jump start my truck, I guess I gotta get some in there so I can help out some dumb ass down the road that left their lights on lol.

Well after reading this thread I think I figured out why most rangers get such BAD gas mileage! Some of you guys have 200-300 extra pounds of stuff in your truck! I have a couple of bungies, a cargo bar, a three headed tow ball, 2 crank holding things and a 16" bowie knife!

Yes there's a MPG thread.
Speaking of keeping stuff in your truck. Since mine is more of a casual trip to the hunting cabin or trip to the hardware it's not driven much, but I do keep my jack stands, and 1/2 ton jack in the trunk of my car now, b/c the other day I happen to stop along the highway and a guy in his van was had a flat. His scissor jack sucked, and his lug wrench was no good and his lug nuts were almost stripped. Fortunately I just slip my 1/2 ton jack under his van, jacked him up, used my 4 way lug wrench to remove the lug nuts, threw on the new wheel, and put it back together, and off I went. So needles to say, always good to have useful stuff in your vehicles.

I keep my truck loaded down all the time. i carry three large tool boxes with everytool. I also keep camping gear and food. i do a lot of 2-3 day trips so i also carry extra fuel my digital camera and recovery equipment: shovels, tow straps, J- cables ext. " i even have a chainsaw for making winchpoints with logs. What you carry depends on what you do and where you go with your truck.
