Police scanner?
Just wondering how well they work? And if anyone has one?
I found one new for 50 bucks. But I've heard that they also go off, If another car has a alarm on it.
Just wondering if there really worth getting?
thanks a lot.

Re: Police scanner?
IMO by the time that thing goes off they have already caught you speeding. You think a 50 dollar Scanner is going to beat there over 200 dollar peice of equipment.

Well, I use to ride a long with my friend who street races, and he bought the same scanner. It did pretty good at letting us know where they were.
perhaps I'll spend 201 dollars on something fancy. That extra dollar will beat them.

Re: Police scanner?
You cant really even understand anything, they talk in code. Just use the 5-0 radio app. Its Free.
----------
Wait I'm a little confused. are we talking about a speeding scanner or something you can listen to them talk? if its talking you do relize they have like 12 different tac's. those scanners work only on tac 1. witch if there planning on setting up a sting on your street racing, your deff not going to hear what there talking about.

Yeah, I've used that app. And it tells you which codes mean what.
Though I need something that beeps, when there's a cops not to far a head of me.
I haven't had a ticket in 2 years, But the cops around here are dicks, go a mile over and you'll get pulled over. So I suppose the no brainer thing to do would be go the speed limit or a little less. But It would come in handy for my other little project I have.

Well at first, it was a dune buggy. It use to be about 14 feet long. So we chopped it up, so it would fit in my truck better. And I've been changing my mind on it for awhile, whether to put suspension on it or not. But still need to find a good motor for it.
But After already spending over 300 on it, and soon to spend another 300 for the engine and the whole new rear end. I need a police scanner, So I don't have a cop roll up and take 600 bucks away from me haha. But yes, its a little more of a supped up gokart, I like to call it a dune buggy, makes it sound more badass haha.
