I just bought a new ignition cylinder and a new ignition actuator for my 87 ranger. My question is, should there be something inbetween these two parts? Cause when I put the ignition cylinder in, it does not grab on to the teeth on the actuator. When I got the truck there was no cylinder in there so Im lost here. Im tired of using a screwdriver to start my truck!

after hours online I found that it needs a gear drive/washer/and snap ring. Now if anyone could help me out on which gear drive I need. I have found 2 part numbers:
