Thumbs down The handle that opens my passenger side rear door
no longer works. And the door is shut. LOL!

Anyone ever take one of these apart? It looks as if the cables are super loose. Gonna hit the junk yard on Friday, just kind of looking for some insight on things before hand.

I just had the exact same thing happen on my Ranger today. Tried a forum search but did not see anything that looked like a exact match. What parts need to be replaced and does anyone have any tips or is there a how too that I missed?

Take the panel off, the guts could have just fallen apart. I believe the handle is riveted, so you may hit a snag with that. It really sounds as if it just fell apart

My grommets broke which now allow the sleeving that covers the wire to pull along with the handle, which means there is zero tension in the wire now. Ford wants an ass load of money for the parts so it looks like it's junk yard time. I have the print out from the parts department at Ford if you need me to scan it in for you I can, but it won't really help you much.

I ended up pulling the wires out at the handle end and have them sitting there so I can simply pull on them to get the door open. I had my stereo installed today and I hated having my truck look like a piece of broken crap, thankfully the guys at the shop have been into low riders for years and have seen plenty of broken Ford Rangers. LOL!

Let me know how you make out at the yard. I have a spare rear door and could possibly pull the handle if you run into a jam

Yeah, I'd actually like to have the handle and the inner workings. It rained all damn day here so they closed early.
