Default Glove box light always on

Hello everybody.

For some reason my glovebox light wont shut off and I'm afraid its gonna drain the battery (hasnt happened yet, though)

Is there a fuse I can pull to shot it off? I checked the manual and couldnt find anything.

Thanks

When you manually depress the activation switch,
Does the light STILL stay on?
If it does not, it probably needs to be adjusted closer to the striking point,
So that the light will shut off.

See if you have the wire for it. It should be pretty simple to install, and its a pocket part at any junkyard. Explorer/ranger ones are 99.9% the same one.

What is the point? I can see if the glovebox is open or closed from the driver's seat.

You probably need to adjust the light assembly which is also the switch. In the pic the metal bar part of the light assembly is the switch, with the glove box opened push on the metal bar & the light should go out.

Thanks Mike:

I felt a wire connector, but couldn't pull it apart. My mechanic found the small release button, and separated the wires. Seems the activation switch had issues. So, it saved me from cutting the wires.
