Default Heater Core

Hi my name is David, i recently bought a 97 ford ranger. I having issues with not having heat in the winter. When i drove it during the winter last year, i noticed that when i drive i have heat, when i come to a stop i lose my heat. I have replaced the thermostat and flushed the radiator. Still have issues with the heat. I think i need to replace the heater core, any thoughts. Thank You.

This probably has nothing to do with the heater core. More likely your water pump is shot. When the impellers rot out, they don't do crap at low RPM and the heater core is a long ways away from the pump.
