Default Dome light problems...

So I had an issue with the passenger door contact (which is now fixed thanks to this site!) and also the dome light. Seems like whoever had the truck prior disconnected the dome light and rear brake light so they wouldn't come high when the door became ajar.

Now that the door is fixed, I can't find how to reconnect the dome light. I got a new bulb (even though my meter told me the OG bulb was still good) I metered the contacts with the door open and closed. The damn thing should work.

Is there a fuse that could be pulled? I thought the dome light fuse took out a whole mess of other things as well...?

the dome light gets its connection through the mounting screws. post a pic of the dome light/wiring in your truck.

I will. Like I said I metered the connections and I have continuity.

BTW, the 2 convenience lights do work...

if there is power at the wires at the light, then it should work. bulb could be bad. don't think it's a fuse because you have power at the light.

there are three screws total, correct? does it come on with the dimmer switched rolled all the way up?

Behind the passenger Side kicker panel there is a relay bet that's where it's unplugged
Unplug that and no dome light but the map lights work

YES, YES, YES!! THANK YOU!! That was my problem, map/cargo/all other lights work, dome light didn't. Relay was unplugged, apparently I forgot to reconnect the relay after replacing the blend door on my 97 Ranger. Talk about a bear of a project, take 12 hours to remove absolutely everything between the seats and the firewall, 1/2 hour to do fix, then those 5 words we all hate, "Installation is reverse of removal"

BTW, on mine, relay is under glove box, not behind kick panel
