Default Seat Covers/side air bags

Does anyone know where I can get seat covers, 60/40 split, that are compatable with side air bags? Ford sell some for $250.00 but that's a lot of money for seat covers.

I saw some at car quest one day i was in there. they are basically three sided covers, with the airbag side left open.

Thumbs up Re: Seat Covers/side air bags

I purchased some covers for my 2011 Ranger Supercab with the sport buckets (equipped with side air bags). Got them from a company online-www.shearcomfort.com. They have a full seat cover kit for roughly $250 -but- the side stiching is air bag compatible and branded AIR BAG for each side so as not to mix up. They are awesome covers- but not inexpensive. My covers are an OEM material -black velour insert with black stretch material on sides ( virtually identical to factory black side bolsters)/ In my opinion- these covers offer a great look, functionality & air bag compatible. Here are some pics- see what you think:

I ordered from shearcomfort before and got seat covers for my Vibe, I got the neoprene, and the fit was not as good as yours look. It was probably the material, I ended up ordering a mesh type from the Ford dealership. After tax, they came to $244. I'll post pics when I get them and get them on.

Your's look great! Shearcomfort wanted about the same price as the dealership, so I went with Ford this time.

Well California girl- thanks for your comments. You are in luck in that your dealer can order you in covers. I looked along time before I ordered these from shearcomfort. I definitely want to see what yours will look like- so post pics when you have them. Also- do you know- are these seat covers you are getting actual Ford accessories ( with Ford part # ?) If they are- I'm sure lots of subscribers will want to know more about them- including me. Good luck with your covers- and let me know when they are in. Thanks again for your comments.

The are not Ford parts. The dealer is using a different company, but he has stated that they have had no complaints... I wish they were a Ford part too!

Well- not to worry. I'm sure the dealer has sourced a good aftermarket product for you. Take your time installing and you'll be glad you did-it will work out fine.
Say- I was going to ask you- have you thought about something to protect the radiator & A/C condenser from bugs, rocks & road debris damage? The 2011 grill design is very open & you can bascically stick your fist right through the openings ( both main grille & lower bumper fascia). I installed a grill insert kit purchased locally -made by a company called Cloudrider (www.cloud-rider.com). Its polished stainless steel & works well with the chrome grill on the XLT. Not hard to install- about 1/2 to 1 hour. And it's going to save the radiator & condenser from some nasty punctures and debris. This kit is not inexpensive- but good accessories usually are not. I am OK with the look and the functionality of this design. Here's a pic- see what you think. Maybe this will be of interest to you. I didn't install the lower bumper fascia insert with the kit but opted to customize a heavy duty rubber shroud sourced from a 2011 Superduty F250. Basically-it clips on to the sub bumper behind the fascia with push pin clips into existing holes. Then I cut it down to fit nicley around the tow hooks and wraps towards back of existing condenser shroud-pinned in place with existing push pins there. If you can't see it in pic- that's exactly what I was hoping for when I installed it ! Look at a 2011 XLT Ranger and you will see the large opening there with the condenser in plain site. Then go look at a 2011 F250 Superduty or Harley Davidson pickup and you will see what the factory did with that shroud- which is what I copied from. Now you see it- now you don't

I got my new seat covers yesterday and installed them. They are pretty nice and came with a center console protector too. I'll post pics soon.

Here are some pics of the seat covers. For doing this myself, I did OK. I'm mechanically challenged when it comes to doing things like this, lol.

Reante- you did fine. I will make one suggestion which may help fit things in a bit better at the bottom. There are a couple of screws on the side trim plastic. One for the recline latch & one on the side. Remove them and carefully pry the trim platic away from the seat base. I think there is a pinch fit tab on the plastic inserting into the seat frame at front of seat or on the side- be careful not to break it. Then - you can tuck the bottoms in & under and re-install the side trim. I like that color - goes well with the carpet. I think those were a good choice for you.
