Default Power Window not working... what is the problem?

So... I have searched the internet near and far and have been unable to find a satisfactory solution to my problem.

I just bought an '02 Ranger Supercab and the day I bought it the power windows worked fine, but now they do not.

The passenger window goes up and down no problem from both the passenger door switch and the drivers door master switch.

The drivers window however no longer goes down. When I hit the switch to put the window down I can hear a secondary clicking noise coming from under the dash? I don't know what this means but I do NOT hear the motor trying to put the window up so I think the problem lies in the switch or wiring. I have taken apart the switch and it looks good as new so I don't know if I need a new switch or not. Is it the relay or wiring harness that is faulty?

This is driving me nuts so any help would be appreciated.

I literally just fixed this problem in my 05 FX4, the issue is that there is a wire inside the conduit between the door and the body that has was pinched and split.

solution
1. remove door panel
2. remove speaker
3. locate severed wire (may take some digging) I had to take the conduit off of the door and push it back in order to reach the wire.

4. splice a piece of wire and make the connection
5. replace all parts and pieces

this fixed my problem hope it helps you out

Could just be the motor. Try whacking on the door panel as you push the windows down button. Ghetto, but if that works it usually just indicates a weak motor.
