Default Mirror Question

I have a 91 Ford Ranger XLT, and no rearview mirror. I've been looking at relevant TN law, and the best I can figure is that I have to have a mirror that can see 200-300 feet behind me whilst on the interstate, highway, etc. My side mirrors help meet some qualifications, but I need a third mirror that can see that far back.

I DO NOT want a rearview mirror mounted onto my windshield. I don't like how it looks or how it distracts me. I want to be able to see back, but not have the mirror block my vision.

Options that I've thought of:
New Side Mirrors
Add Small Mirrors Somewhere

What do you guys think?

I thought about it, but it's like $100... I have a fisheye mirror that is used for large trucks, I just don't know where I can mount it...

I may just hang the damn thing... it has to come off for off-roading anyways.
