Default ah Murphys Law! Mustang dome problems

OKAY!

The issue: my dome light fuse keeps blowing (it worked GREAT for a week ) ( i have a power wire connected for maps)
The how:
the very second i reconnect my battery the fuse blows, if the battery is connected it blows the very moment it touches the port (pretty cool to see a spark tho lol)

The (maybe important) History:

i did the blinker mod a few months ago and i FUCKED it up, that caused issues. once i figured it out i left the blinker mod yay but then (3 months later) i started having abs fuses blowing so the only thing i could think of was the blinker mod so i undid the blinker mod and put the wires back together..... fuse still blew two times after that but then it stopped....

and now were here TA DA!

little things ive noticed: anytime the fuse is blown (on any fuse ive blown) the horn is affected.....im assuming the horn is connected into a whole bunch of shiznit but anyways thought it was important

with this current issue cruise control and the dome light are affected....(Fuse 13 is blowing) i will recheck in 15 mins!

----------

i will try to put a fuse in w.o the dome light being connected and seeing what happens, im currently out of fuses

where/how you got the power wire ran? On mine, I ran the wire thru the dome then put a eye ring on it. Is the wire possibly shorting out somewhere...?

it is a possibility i guess, i have a o ring like you said (need to find my wire cutter and make it shorter so that its insulated fully) but i hardly think thats the issue cuz it is minimal but gotta cover alll the bases! and on the other end (by the headlight switch) i have it with a t tap and tape around it

Can you post a picture of your connection at the dome light?

Just a picture looking up to where you have the power wire going.

i just tried a 20 amp fuse cuz i was curious and that blew...i am checking where i have the power

before i had it in a different place than i have it now and i had constant power to the light

----------

okay my connection is the same as yours

----------

so i looked just now and the screw that i am connecting the power wire to, screws into the same wire that i am taking power from (orange/green) idk if that means anything or not

----------

idk what could make it stop working randomly... :/

Just out of curiosity have u tried connecting the dome light with out the power wire even there?

Just like the 01-03 trucks would just a plug and play.

i did try that once didnt work, but now that i realize that the ground screw ACTUALLY screws in, ill try that...u know what? i have soemtime now ill go to autozone and pick up 5 more fuses. YIKES!

does using a 20 amp fuse make any difference? (the port calls for a 15 amp)

i ask cuz i have plenty of those

It just takes more to blow it is all

I have a feeling ur truck doesn't need the power wire. I don't recall 2 factory wires on mine. If u notice in the how to my pic shows 1

Ur 04 maybe a early one before a mid year change.

----------

If so that would be a first I have ever seen

Mykhael, if you can photoshop the yellow wire OUT then u can use that pic (let me know if you need better pic ill take a different one)

truck was plug in play, idk whhy it didnt work the first time the connection was very sketchy but after messing w the screws afterawhile it works perfect without the power wire so now i have a wire in my headliner w no use lol

If you can get me a picture without wire that would be cool

Also can you look at your door jam and see what the production date was?
