Default LED Courtesy lighting.

Wired with a relay

Btw would anyone know how to add a switch? i have an illuminated switch that i had tried hooking up along with the relay, but i kept blowing fuses once i would flip it.

There isn't really a need for a relay with the LEDs
You can easily wire it to a switch tho. What do you have it connected to for power right now?

the previous owner had taken power from the fuse box, a 15 amp for a switch that he used to have some exterior lights. i spliced that wire going into the switch. Also i used a relay because i wanted the lights to come on with the dome light so i had to splice the dome light switch wire onto the relay.

when i tried hooking the switch up, it had a diagram. i wired accordingly and when the switch was on. the lights would work the second i had flipped the switch to the off position, it would blow the 15 amp fuse. i tried supplying a 25 amp fuse with no success. could it be because i had the door open? or because the 12v constant was from the fuse block?

----------

what i am trying to do is make it so when i open the door the lights will turn on. then as i am driving and the doors are closed when all the leds are off, i can flip the switch and have just the leds to go on.

I was gonna put it in the top left corner of the window but I didn't wanna have it all out there, plus where I put it the wires are hidden perfectly. And thanks. I'm looking at getting some LEDs like I got in my footwells for my wheel wells, gonna run those off a cigarette lighter also lol
