Default Parking needle wont move?

Are there any walkthroughs as to how to reconnect the cable that indicated whether you are in Park Nuetral Reverse and Drive? I've just been counting the little bumps as I change it since I got it and it's getting annoying lol The PO said I just need to reconnect a cable but how do I get to it?

One the plastic bottom panel is removed, remove the metal panel behind it. Under the steering column and just to the right you will see the cable, a white box is attached which is anchored with a screw, the cable loop connects to a "J" shaped piece of metal above that. If the loop is in tact look at the white box that is anchored. It has a black roller, which is the adjuster for the needle, turn it until the gear selector reads accurate
