Default LEDs in the cab w/o being ricey?

So for a few years I've wanted to put some sort of lights in the cab but I don't want it to be ricey. I always like my bro and his friends cars but they were over done.. lights under the dash, in vents, in cup holders, etc.. For my birthday my bro bought me a few different orange LEDs but I'm not sure where to put them to make it look clean... any thoughts?

Far under the dash to illuminate that dark area and interior door handle.
Stay away from primary light sources like the dome light.
Cup holders aren't overkill IMO since they do have function but I suppose it's tuff to light up a small area without making it look like a spotlight unless you plan on adjusting the brightness.
