Re: Black interior conversion
So the first mini meet went well, even had an old friend I haven't seen in over a year show up at random with a 380hp Civic Type R! LOL! Not bad for such a short notice, maybe next week will be even better.

You get all the credit 4evermodding! Lol! Very good idea of yours. I did not get any pics this time around. Brought my camera, but it got dark while we were talking! I should be able to get a bunch if we meet up next week! And Mitch, I had a blast man! You got one cool truck! I'm sure I'll be talking to ya soon!

Re: Black interior conversion
Sorry for not posting or updating recently. Been dealing with a personal crisis as well as several family crisis this past week. 4evermodding Yep you get the credit for getting this all started, and Stealth it was nice being able to talk to another ranger enthusiast. Maybe this sunday you should come over to my place, especially since it's like a rolling car show out here where I live. I can show you the rest of my projects/money pits too. LOL.

Re: Black interior conversion
Hey man! Totally understand! I hope things start going smoother for you. That kind of stuff is never fun! Sunday sounds good to me, if it works for you. I think it would be very cool to see your other projects. It sounds like you got some really cool stuff out there! You have my phone number, so feel free to holler if a good time comes up! Thanks!

Re: Black interior conversion
Looks good man!
I totally hear you on the quality. My F100 had a burnt yellow color dash originally, that I hated with a passion. I wanted to do the black interior thing, but I could never find the right color paint. But then I got lucky, and had a buddy that bought a truck with a complete black interior. He sold everything to me for $20, and then I swapped all of it into my truck. Definitely a pain, but well worth it in the end!

Rustoleum Satin black on everything, then on my armrest, vinyl door pad, and the face of the lower door pocket I paint over with black Rustoleum Vinyl/Plastic paint just to leave it with a factory feel.
The vinyl paint takes about 3 times as long to cure to the touch than the satin black will though. Learned that one the hard way LOL.

Thanks Fordzilla. I actually didn't know that there were Rangers that came with all black interiors when I did this, never seen any at the scrap yards and I've never looked at the top of the line trucks at the dealerships because I know I just can't afford one.

Well what's stopping you!? I did mine on a whim over the weekend with $40 in spray paint. If I can do it then trust me you can too, so have at it!

I think a lot of the late model Rangers came with a darker shade of grey than earlier years. Since grey is one of the most common interior colors for Rangers you should be able to find the pieces you need at a scrap yard pretty easily.
