Default OHC install issues.

Alright, finally followed through with my purchase of an Explorer OHC and installed it friday.

It went pretty smooth, however, theres one small issue. Theres a gap in the back of the console between the top of it and the headboard stuff. What did I do wrong to cause this gap, and can it be fixed?

Worse comes to worse Ill just deal with the eyesore. Its mounted solidly enough, its just not a factory look.

You may take some cardboard that u cut out. Stick it between the roof and headliner to push the headliner down some to close up the gap.

I stuffed some of the cutout headliner material between the roof and the existing headliner to help push it down so the gap is closed.

I think I read that somewhere too.

EDIT: Damn we both had the same idea!

The gap may be a result of it not being forward enough.

I had considered that was the problem. Me and my friend tried putting wood above the bracket but that didnt work. Maybe Ill move the piece of wood and see what I can do.

Right now I cant be arsed though. I need to pull it out after payday to do the wiring once I get the stuff for it still anyways.

Did you have the mounting plate above the headliner? When you install the 2 screws it will draw the plate and headliner down to the OHC.
