Re: Moonroof
I would be concerned about having a water tight seal, and one that will last.

not one drop of water with mine. been through a couple years of hurricanes, and a lot of summer rains. have a little wind noise above 55, but that will be solved after paint. i used the foam tape that came with the unit, where as before i had silicone. no wind noise with the silicone.
as far as durability, i've had this one in my truck for nearly 2 years now, with pretty much daily use. i say this one because the original one i had was a used unit we replaced at work. the gear had stripped and the dealer wanted it replaced so i got the old one. it worked for a while, then stripped out the rest of the way. i replaced it with the exact same one. i wouldn't give it up for anything.

Re: Moonroof
Whoever says adding a sunroof /moonroof remove structural integrity /safety in a roll over has obviously never rolled a truck.
ANY truck in a roll over will pancake the roof flat to the door line/bed line in a heart beat.
ANY truck. I can take pics at the junkyard if you don't believe me lol.
That being said: of course it detracts from safety to some aspect, but if you roll a pickup at speed, your F*KED anyway without a cage.
Still, I want one. And would gladly chop my roof for one to have an entire "glass dome" top from the bedline up

sorry if i'm being negative. just stating the facts.
sometimes negativity saves lives.
and I got my question answered when I visited the ranger production plant, back in 2003.
I'll take their advice long before I take yours.

Re: Moonroof
Im working on installing a manual pop top moonroof i hijacked out of a sunbird at the local wreckers... it came with everything but silicone, and ive got a minor brace that doesnt do anything for integrity... but it seems very easy to do
