Post News for you guys out there changing cluster light colors!

i have an 06 ranger sport 3.0 and recently tried to change the cluster color to complete red, came with green and red.. me and a friend of mine tried to put roscolux behind the green because the green wouldnt wipe off with acetone.. it worked but the cluster numbers where so dim that i had trouble reading them..so i ripped it back out and recently found a site that carried any lighting product you could possibly want..
Superbrightleds.com if it helps any of you out..
im going to try red leds in place of my stock white lights and see if theres any color change.. just waiting on the money..

I believe you need to sand off the original paint before you apply new stuff

Yes to properly get rid of the green back there use a wet sand paper to get it off. Be careful to not do it hard because it will then show scratches when your done.

How did you paint the plate without taking off the needles?

U could probably still the roscolux stuff once you sand the green off and will look good

People have used those plug in led bulbs but the aim of them is bad and you get hot spots so it looks bad.

Hot spots as in more light in one spot than another spot

Only way to do a LED for a gauge is to solder in the little leds and that is time consuming and expensive

plug-in sucks. the only way for uniform light across the cluster is running plug-ins and led strips from oznium.com.
