Default Bucket seat installation questions.

I have no experience with mounting customs seats, so I have some questions because I want to purchase new seats that will hold me in place, be more comfortable, and whatnot.

I want to get the pictured seats. I can order them with universal sliders. Now, when I look at my stock seats, it looks like there are just four brakets that are bolted to the floor pan, which are then attached to the slider. The seat is then attached to the slider.

Therefore, with the assumed need of a little fabrication, I should most likely be able to mount the universal sliders to the existing brakets?

And for the seat belt latch, Im assuming that is attatched to the slider because it moves with the seat. I guess id have to create a braket to attach that if one doesnt exist.

Idk, anyone with experience?

I just found these, a bit more expensive, but I may just save up for these and pay for the expensive bolt in corbeau brakets for a ranger to save me the time..

The previous owner of my truck GHETTO rigged the bucket seats:
they didn't sit level so he put bolts therough the floor/washers and used NUTS as spacers/washers to achieve the desired height (in some cases 5 nuts on top of each other).

If it's caged^ Like said above ^^ make two rails that mount to the seats, bolt them on to the seats then sit it in your truck tack weld it in, unbolt the seats and torch that mount

if it's not caged I'd recommend finding adapter brackets (if you can, YES they are like $50-$100 EACH). OR have someone who's experienced with it, help you weld up some little flat floor panel mounts with bolt holes to "squeeze" the floor and bolt to that accordingly.

If it's not caged, what's the point of putting bucket seats in there?

Kinda like wiping your ass before you shit

Maybe you were banned for a reason, haha. Yeah, its not caged. So why does that mean I cant have a seat that is comfortable, hold me in the seat better, etc. Autocross cars arent caged, but many of them run a racing style bucket seat. Maybe I want to offroad, but I dont want to fucking jump my truck 50 feet, and would simply appreciate a seat that will make offroading more duable since I wont be bouncing around so much. Maybe I just want nice seats because they look cool. Who gives a crap if my truck is caged. Im asking about how they can be bolted in.

So, no its not caged. Yes, i know if it is caged you just fab mounts in that way tied into the cage. Yea, and unfortunaltely the previous owner of my truck GHETTO rigged the stock seats in. It looks like they pulled seats out of a standard cab or another year ranger that used different brackets. The front brakets go into the correct holes be the rear are up in the air and they used a piece of 3x3 steel with plate on top of it to reach the bracket. The bolt then goes down through the floor

Because of this, I think its best and the smartest choice to just buy all new brackets from corbeau... at 100 a piece...I guess thats cheaper then the seat breaking off and me getting injured in a wreck.

Well who shit in your Wheaties this morning? Lol

Previous owner installed them so he could have a center console and some actual storage.

I kept them (even though the truck came with the original bench as well) because I like a seat with some side-bolsters on it so my hips actually stay in the seat when I take turns at "double plus ten". I do plan on an interior cage later, but that has 0 to do with my preferrred choice of seats.

Also, being able to operate a handbrake is possible with a center console cut out. Try that with your bench seat.

Hey man, not to burst your bubble but Bomz is kind of sketchy stuff, and since Im strapped into the seat, and thats whats connecting me to the car... Id really only opt for high quality stuff..

And as for the brackets you speak of, your are likely only going to be able to get universal sliders that will need to be adapted to work with stock brackets.
