Default To those considering a Expo seat swap

I wanted to write this so others may learn from my error. I went to my local junkyard yesterday and pulled a set of good condition cloth buckets from an Explorer XLT as well as it's short center console (and an armrest from an eddie bauer) as well as a set of tracks from a B2300 extended cab. Today I went to install the seats after spending a good amount of time pulling out my bench, wrestling the seat belts out, wrestling the new seat in, only to find that the brackets where wrong. I have a standard cab.

Here is my tip to everyone! Triple check everything, know what parts you need and don't think anything else will do unless you have solid evidence. Just know what you're getting into and know what parts you need for your truck, it will save you many headaches in the future.

Can you go back to the yard and get the different tracks?

As far as I know yes, I can just go swap them for the proper tracks. The real issue is that the truck I pulled them out of was the only ranger derivative that had seats in the first place. So I really have two options: wait till the yard has the proper parts for me to steal, or just say I'm out 16 bucks and look elsewhere.

Thanks for the post. Yeah I'm still learning to stop trying to wing it on projects that I feel will require more patience and planning.

That sucks! But good advice! I'm to cautious on some things, but it's saved my bacon more often that screwed me!

My father once commented that his time in the army has made him very meticulous and calculated. It usually takes him a little longer to get a project done, but when it is finished it is done right and usually at a better quality then it otherwise would have been.
