Default Replacing manual locks/windows/mirrors with Power?

Hey guys,

I have a 2000 XLT Ranger with manual locks, windows and mirrors. A local junkyard just got in a '97 XLT with power locks, windows, and mirrors. I'd like to switch out for them, but I don't have a clue where to start if it's even really worth doing. Anyone else ever done this?

Still to come: 3" body lift, powerdome hood, and power windows/locks

Wish I could find a pair of power doors. It can be done. I put in aftermarket power locks but still want the power windows & mirrors.

Check this out ==> http://www.fordrangerforum.com/how-s...ighlight=power

Seems like it would be a big project but it would be pretty cool

That is a BIG job if you want to do a factory install. I would do a little rewiring and make it aftermaket install.

I just finished doing this myself. I found a set of doors from a '97 took out the power locks, windows and mirrors. I plan on getting a write up for it after i button everything up. The hardest part was getting the power windows to work but i had remote start added already so i used it for the power locks.

Actually John (aka wvcat) requires splicing and lots of wiring. I happen to do this over 2 years ago (OEM FACTORY STYLE) I took the engine harness/complete dash/ and took the donor doors complete and swapped them in. No aftermarket for me. now you can still do this without swapping out your doors, you would just have to take out the crank/module/wiring and than you are good to go.

let me know if you need any info

here is youtube vid of me explaining the process of the power conversion. and forget my rambling, this is when my son Thai asked me to get him a ranger.

i did not see your link to the video.

i recently got my first ranger and the only thing it doesnt have that i really want is the power options group. meaning power locks,windows and maybe mirrors. any help you can provide would be great.

i was hoping (probly foolishly) that all the wiring was there and i just needed to add the motors and such. any info on that?
