Default Overhead Lamp problem...

I have a problem with my overhead lamp. When I push the brake pedal the damn thing lights up. It's been doing this a while now and I can't seem to find the cause. Any ideas would be helpfull.

It's not that. It clearly comes on when I push the brake pedal. It can be seen even in the day time.

It is weird. This is my 3rd ranger and out of all of them this is the only one that has done this.

I don't know for sure. I'm thinking it may have a short in the wiring some where. I've been checking and still aint found what's causing it.

Check under it where it mounts and the third brake light connects the roof may have scrapped the wires enough to make a connection to provide power to the light when you hit the brake.

Thanks. I already did. Everything seems to be ok. It's been doing that since the first engine was replaced. I'm on engine number 4 thanks to geico's stupidity. With all that CPU shit in there, I might not ever find it.

See what I mean? These electrical gremlins are hard to track down in todays vehicles. What makes it even worse, I use to install lights and harness at utiltity trailer manufacturing company for a living. This is embarrasing and confusing all at the same time.
