Well pal, heres the deal (been chating with clinton about this)...
I have a 96 XLT; Clinton sended me some cool orange needels from a newerer model (2002 or so). The idea -obviously- was to swap gauges needles.
Tach=ok, speedo=ok, fuel=ok, temp=ok, oil=ok, amps=shit!!!
All the needles were the same, exept for the amps one. The original (white) one has a thin metalic shaft, while the newerer one (orange) has a thicker and plastic shaft.
As a result, the new one doesnt fit (its bigger in diameter) so i glued it to the ammeter shaft. Its not stick to the plastic of the cluster, just to the ammeter shaft, well placed.
The problem is thaat now the ammeter doesnt work, I can easily move the new needle with my finger, but once the truck is on, it doesnt move.
The question; how can I fix this? Shall I get a new cluster or shall I get just a new ammeter motor?
I really dont know what went wrong here!!!!!!!!
So please help!!!
