Question Headlight Switch

OK hi all ,, Yes im new here, But I have a question that im sure you all can answer here it is
The headlight switch on the dash is back lit when ever I start my truck.. Is this right, No matter if the headlight switch is on parking lights or headlights or off. Put key in, start truck, and headlight switch is on????? Is this Right..2005 ranger fx4 lvl 1 super cab

Yes it's normal. How else would you find the switch when it's dark?

OK thanks all I quess Im getting use to my truck bought it new..It never work . Now it is off warranty and poof switch needed to be replaced and I thought they installed it wrong.. But makes sense how will you find it in the dark lol lol lol thank you im just getting started with the web site ill be a reading bug for a while...Again thank you for the help

Just for future reference. When the light burns out. You either have to solder in a new bulb or replace the whole switch. Kinda goofy you cant just replace a bulb.

That system is a good basic setup, but I wouldn't trust any electrical connection that isn't soldered together & properly shielded.

have had mine in for over two years, never have had a problem with it. the fit is so tight, and there is nothing in or around it to make contact with.
