I have a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT that is a 2.5L 4-cylinder. My transmission has gone bad and I was wondering if it was possible to swap my 2.5 for a 4.0L V6. What all do I need to know, if this is possible?

I don't know much but I do know a 4.0 is bigger than a 2.3 as it idk how well it wll fit.
And ud have to get a trany for it.. wouldn't it just be xheaper to get a new trany for ur 2.3 ?
But otherwise id say yes it could be done
