Dome Light
Hey for some reason my Dome light inside my truck wont cut off sometimes. Like sometimes i have to move it around to get it to cut off. But i don't even trust that because it jumps back on sometimes and i don't wont it to drain my battery while i am not in the truck because it might just jump on. I am wondering why is it doing this? Is there a shorten on the switch or something? I just took out the fuse to be on the save side so i wont drain my battery while i am at school.

It is just like this
http://members.clan-nwp.com/DarkSpoo...mages/dome.jpg
Edit:
I just went outside and started messing with it. And i got it to stay off and come on when the door opens like it suppose too.
I am going to go outside later on today and see if it is still off.. But its weird because it only happens sometimes then it starts to work rite again..

i think i'm experiencing the same issue.. its not the light itself but the sensor in the door that tells you if its closed or not.. i notice mine comes on here and there and gives me the singe beep and the door ajar light on the dash comes on so i had to remove the bulb from the dome light

What most people do:
WD-40 on the door hinge, Slam the door quite a few times. Repeat as nessacary.

Yepp I was reading that earlier before i made this topic.
I am going to do that.. Because i had to do that with my tailgate! It would not stay closed would fall. So i had to re-oil the hinges and boom it would stay again
Because i notice like sometimes the door will come open a little when i am driving and i will hear the ajar thing come on.. And i would wonder what it was. But i figure it out. It was my door opening so i don't think its closing good or sumthing.

The sensor is behind the door latch on the 02's and I think it is in the same place since they went away from the button in the door jam.
I had this problem for a year before a guy told me how to fix it, now I spray WD-40 into it twice a year.
It has always amazed me how much crud gets into the door, you should take your door panels off every five years and clean them out.

All you are cleaning inside the door is the crud that builds up in the doors, if you don't do much or any wheeling, chances are very good that you don't have much if anything in the doors, so it would probably be a waste of time. I used to live down a dirt road that was really dusty in the summer time, that was when I had the problem with the dome light sensor, all it takes is to open the door and spray WD-40 into the lock mechanism and open and close the door a couple of times. The whole process takes maybe five minutes the first time, and however long it takes to spray WD each time there after.
I will post a picture of where to spray if anybody needs it.
As a warning, don't go fumbling around inside doors that have electric windows/door locks, the wiring is good and the plugs are difficult to get apart, but you could stop something from working correctly.

Yeah i do roll my windows down alot.
I am going to remove the door panel and clean it out like you said..
But as of rite now the light is working fine. So once it starts acting up again i will probably do that
But yeah post some pictures if you got them! It wont hurt! Just helps the picture who doesn't understand well.
