Default To the ones who carry a pistol in your truck got a question...

I have been thinking of this for a lil while now. I plan on getting my Cpl as it is called here in Mi soon and when i am taking longer trips i would like to be able to remove the pistol from my side and have it handy in the truck.

So what i was wondering is if anyone mounted a holster in the truck some where where it would be out of sight while you are in the truck and driving but would be easy to grab if need be. I wont be leaving the pistol in the truck when i am not in there it will be back at my side for that.

If possible i would like to see some pics of how you have it mounted in the truck.

What i was thinking was when i get the new center console i will mount a holster some where around the front of it on the drivers side. Just not sure how that will work out really.

1) what cal are you looking at?
2) are you wanting a hard holster or soft?
3) do you want quick draw or slandered?
4) revolver or semi auto?
5) small back up or full size?

i all was move mine. some times its in a custom lock box under the driver seat, glove box or in the back of the cab. NOT recommended placing it any where near the side of the seat. i carry a .45 cal and it has went off when it was next to the seat. also if you are looking for a quick draw i recommend shaving the hammer down so you do not snag it when you draw if you need it fast.

I bet that scared the shit out of you, having it go off haha. Ive been thinking of getting a Springfield XD or XDm .40 to carry in the truck, it has an internal saftey so it by no means go off if dropped etc. Glocks have similar mechanisms. However, better safe than sorry.

I use a Kangaroo carry air marshall holster. Can access while belted in to seat and don't have to fiddle with it everytime I get in and out of truck. Very comfortable from day one.
Try not to have more than two carry positions as when the feces hits the rotary oscilator, you want muscle memory to be able to get said pistol. If you carry here and there, your gonna be searching for it. That could be bad news. Just Sayin'…

you might want to check your states regulations on concealment inside a vehicle before you go spending money. In my state, cpl or no cpl a handgun has to be in either the glove box or on your person. Not under the seat, not between the seat and the center console, not in the door pocket.. These are things you need to check into before you start carrying and get yourself in trouble. Be responsible, otherwise you're just some peckerwood who's waiting to go to jail.

lol, not offend, but Canadians dont have restricted firearms as much as Americans do, so when I see what you guys carry, its like holy shit. The only thing we could use would be a horse shoe on a rope or a tire iron lol

1. I already have the pistol it is a 9mm S&W .
2. Not 100% sure yet.
3. I want to be able to pull it when it is needed.
4. it is a semi auto.
5. It is full size.

I have carried this pistol for a while in the woods now while out hunting or trapping because Mi has open carry law while it is on your person. The pistol is the same as glock it has the trigger safety no hammer. I have a soft holster i carry it with now and i was thinking when i get the full length explorer console that up towards the front would be a good place my leg will cover it while driving but easy to grab when needed.

That is very true i know one day i was carrying on my weak side and had to pull it took me a second to realize that it wasn't on my right side good thing it wasn't life or death that i needed it.

I plan to have it on my side 95% of the time truthfully but for me to travel down to lower Mi it takes me up to 10 hours that is when i would like to stick it some where but it has to be easy to get to.

In Mi there isn't no regulations that i know of i have a lot of friends carry and i have talked to the local instructor he has said yea you can just toss it on the back seat if you want to.
I have to take the class before i can even get the permit so i will learn all of the regs.

there is nothing better than going to the grocery store, bank, movies, dinner, knowing that you are able to protect yourself or those around you if the time comes.
