Armed security, or work for a law enforcement agency? HR 218 only protects those who work for a government agency....just don't wanna see you get hemmed up in the wrong state.

Ya'll be safe out there!

In Nevada, its still on the books to carry an unconcealed pistol. You can carry it on your hip all day, like a modern cowboy no one can say shit, except dont come in my store with that lol. thats when concealed permit comes in handy.

I want to get my permit..

Ummmmmm,

Blackwater doesn't exist anymore, they are (or were) not federally protected or even sanctioned and federal permits are a bit specialized to get your hands on. You kind'a need to be a federal marshal or 3 letter club or retired LE. Active LE do not even get reciprocity in all states.

Hell of a first post I know but there are just some things.........

To the OP:

Check the rules in your state ........

Ensure that if you happen to "forget" that your stick is in the "truck holster" that it is covered or undercover.

Blackhawk makes some nice platforms that you can roll on - roll off.

That failing I'm partial to mounting the holster in the right seat rear pocket. That way it's just a "yawn and stretch" away from the game if you need it and is tucked out of the way if you "forget".

Cheers,

Doc

So what i was wondering is if anyone mounted a holster in the truck some where where it would be out of sight while you are in the truck and driving but would be easy to grab if need be. I wont be leaving the pistol in the truck when i am not in there it will be back at my side for that.

If possible i would like to see some pics of how you have it mounted in the truck.

What i was thinking was when i get the new center console i will mount a holster some where around the front of it on the drivers side. Just not sure how that will work out really.
Hey man

If you go to your local gun shop, you can get a safe, that you can probably mount under the seat, or behind you if you have an extended cab. (you can cover that with something too, if you want). Some are biometric (they can only be opened by your fingerprints), at a pretty low cost. Also, PLEASE remember that if you DO get pulled over, the first words out of your mouth should NOT be, "I have a gun", but rather, "I am a CPL holder, and there is a gun in the vehicle." I have worked in law enforcement for almost 12 years, and I know that cops have a tough enough job. Good luck, mate.

Regards.

I would expect your firearms permits to show up on the police computer when your plates are run…in which case, just sit tight with your hands on the wheel (or dash) until the officer is at your window.

A member in the Impala forum I used to frequent had a holster mounted to the driver's side of his center console, he also kept a cloth in the car to cover it if needed. (This was a member in TX)

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Depends if the state has it attached to the person's plate. ALSO, in MY state we don't have CCW, but if other states system is anything like ours, don't count on it to be running properly, or have the correct information. They can't even get my street name spelled correctly.

In MI i don't believe it is tied to the plate. They instruct you that should you be stopped by LEO the first thing you are to disclose is that you are CPL and the weapon is in the vehicle. You also must present your CPL to the LEO with your DL, Reg and POI.
