Default Help!!! Really Need it...

Well i have been searching the forum and i didn't see this so if it has been asked before sorry about asking it again.

I have a 1998 Ford ranger xlt ext cab that i am trying to remove the 60/40 seat out of it. I had no troubles with the front seat bolts but the ones in the back i am having all kinds of trouble. I have broke two sockets now and we broke one bolt before. Please tell me there is an easier way to get the bolts out.

Also on the broken one what would be the best way to get that bolt out?

Soak the bolts with a penetrating oil, many people like PB Blaster or you can try WD 40, gun oil, etc.
Use an easy-out on the busted one.

I have it soaking now i am gonna let it soak over night.. I will try it again tomorrow along with giving it some heat from a propane torch that is all i have here handy at the house.

I will have to see if we have any EzOuts if not i may be able to barrow one.

I soaked the bolts on my passenger seat used heat, and managed to catch the rug on fire. WD40 is not a penetrating oil, PB Blaster, Kroil, ATF and Acetone mixed 50/50 will all help, I ended up striping one of the bolts because I used the regular torx t50 and it really is a torx plus that fits it. OTC sells a set for $25 that has the right size torx http://www.amazon.com/OTC-BIT-SET-TORX-PLUS/dp/B000I1V9GU Made in china unfortunately maybe a Snap-on, Matco, Mac tool truck in your area can get you the right bit. also try MAP gas it comes in the yellow cans they get a bit hotter than propane

Thanks everyone i am almost sure i used the PB blaster.. That is about all we have around the garage lol.

I was worried about setting the carpet on fire but i think if i come from under the truck with a propane torch it shouldn't be to bad..If it does i may try to find the vinyl flooring. Making this in to a work truck for my Company.

My seats are not Torx bit tho they are 15mm i thought i had a socket for the impact they are built stronger but i don't.
