you take your old one out, put in new one, finished. dissasembly of the radio bezel and cluster bezel are very simple. Would take you less than an hour to swap

trans wont matter. But I dont think the tach will read in-correct with your 4 banger. not 100% on this tho. I took one from a v8 explorer and it was way off on my v6. turns out there is an adjust knob on the back of the tach. to the right was set for v8 to the left for v6. But I think that the middle is for v6 and the left for 4 banger. I turned mine form the v8 all the way left and the tach was really low and hit the rev limiter at like 3,500 when it is suppose to be 5,500. I now have it turned just below half or in the middle.

Perhaps someone with a 4 banger can enlighten us with the issue....?

I have never seen a "factory" cluster with a selector for cylinder amount.

dont know if its a selector or not, but it does seem to change the rpm readout.

Youre gonna have to trim the middle part to fit, I had to dremel parts of mine to make it fit, just be careful and not take too much off and hit the guts of the knob part
