Belt chirping, replaced belt and pulleys still have same issue?
Hi all,
My ranger is making an awful chirping noice. I replaced the belt and it stopped for a week and a half. It started back up again so I replaced the idler pulley and the belt tensioner pulley. Still chirping! It gets worse as I accelerate. Most of the time it can still be heard when my truck is idling but sometimes its only when I accelerate. Really frustrated with this, if anyone has any ideas please let me know
Thanks!

My belt has the same issue. I replaced the belt, then the tensioner. Still there. But its only in cold weather. I was then told to take brake cleaner to all the pulleys, with a wire brush. Still have yet to try it though.

Tell me how that works for ya. I'm having the same problems during start up in the cold. I had all my belts and pulleys replaced by the Ford dealer... It's quite annoying.

Try a new waterpump pulley (and another new belt) -- my damned fan/wp pully was slipping all kinds'a bad... nothing steady just a few squeaks to really be annoying.
I've got a Dayco belt on there now -- others have better luck with the Goodyear gator back belts.

I had the same issue and it ended up being the cam synch unit at the back of the motor. The bearing in mine was shot it chirped even when out of the truck and i just spun it in my hands.
