You don't install it in your headliner, you install it to your roof panel. You basically just screw the bracket onto the the roof, and run your wires to your power source, run the coax to the antenna, find a place within reach but out of harm's way to mount the mic, and voila. Somebody else can chime in on the specific details, i'm multitasking on 3 different forums at the moment.

just sayin that a fiberglass antenas aren't worth the money. well maybe they are for around town and just bsing but i would go with a stainless steel one.

I was gonna say, all Ive ever used were fiberglass, I feel that the stainless ones are more for temporary mounts.

A fiberglass antenna is no different than a steel antenna. Instead of an exposed metal stick, the metal stick is encapsulated in fiberglass. There is no performance difference. They do exactly the same thing.

you mean gen 3? Gen 1 was what.....80somthing to 92, then gen 2 was 93-97, right?

No, gen 1 was 83-88, gen 2 89-92, and so on and so forth.

Mine's a 92.
