i wanted to put blue leds in my gauges to match the rest of my truck, i put them in but most of the gauges are still green, i found out that the HVAC has a film behind that can be sanded down is this the same for the gauges or what else could i do to fix this..Thanks!

To my knowledge the gauges have a blue filter on them that makes the yellow incandescent bulbs look green.

you have to actually strip down your whole gauge system and sand down the green film on the gauges. Then paint them with blue transparent paint. However you must know that you will have to take the needles off of the gauges and thus having to calibrate them to get them to work.
