Lightbulb Dash Bezel

What's the easiest way to remove the dash bezel? I was going to sand it down and repaint it. My interior is tan. Any suggestions on color, or should I just keep it default black?

Unbolt the 2 screws under the radio with a 9/32 socket, then get your fingers behind the bezel and pull gently. pull it half way out and unplug everything, pull the rest of the way and unplug the radio and pop the radio out by pushing in the 2 tabs on the side. Paint what ever color you want, use krylon fusion and clear coat, the clear will prevent chipping

The rubbery crap can be a PITA to get off some bezels...
I've had good luck with brake fluid, brush on a liberal amount, let it set a while & rub over everything with a scrubby pad, the rubber stuff should start to peel right off.
Saves a lot of extra sanding.

Once all that stuff is off, sand all the way to 600-800 wet/dry, wipe down with rubbing alcohol, let dry, paint, let dry, wet sand any imperfections, paint again, repeat until everything is silky smooth.

Fusion is the easiest to work with, although it's somewhat limited in colors.

Eeeeeeew!
That's gonna leave a mark... literally.

You know you should always consult the all knowing forum before starting a project. HA!!

You might be able to salvage it as long as it didn't melt the plastic too bad. It will require more sanding, but you might be ok after all.

I did consult here and lacquer thinner was barely working so i used gasket remover instead. Then I came here and read brake fluid... I think im going to try and dremel out my oem unit.
