Default Sound deadening update.

Did the doors recently with self adhesive roof flashing and it worked really well. Stripped out the truck this morning and did the floor and back wall. Overall it wasn't tough, took about half a day total. Results are good - road noise is cut quite a bit. Total material for both the doors and floor was less than (2) 9"x50' rolls which are about $32 each. All in all it was worth the effort because the cost was so low. No odors and not hard at all.

Great job and thanks for posting details on the size I've been trying to estimate how much I'll need to do my truck You planning to do the roof next?

Don't get dejected if you've still got some rattles to chase after even after you get everything back together. Maybe get some adhesive felt wrapped around any looms that will lay against the flashing or hard trim in a way that will allow the looms to still move. You've definitely got some extensive work done.

That stuff is highly flammable. You should have used automotive sound deadner . Made from Byutle ( ya I know I spelt it wrong )

the other thing i was looking at as a sound dampener is putty back tape, or mastic tape, its a foil backing with a putty mastic, its pretty thin, but its thick. might have to give it a try, and its heat resistant. we use that a lot at work so i could get it for free or cheap at least.
