hey,
does anyone out there wish they had a center console? if so i have a trick for you. Me and my dad were digging around in the salvage yard when i spotted a poor old ranger with the same exact seats as mine in it. i couldn't help it so i went and took a closer look. I had always wanted a center console in my ranger because the lack of storage space in my regular cab. Thats when my dad had a revaluation. Why cant u Take the passenger seat out and replace it with the drivers seat. so one socket wrench and 5 mins later i had a passenger seat with track still attached on the bottom. I then went looking for a center console and found one in a explorer. i am not quite sure on the year but it was a mid nineties one. i took everything our of the center console including the bracket.!!!(the bracket is needed)!!! make sure u get the aluminum bracket or whatever its made out of because it is needed for the armrest and responsible for any sturdiness in console. so i got the seat and the console for around 20 bucks! i love salvage yards. ******************** to install: 1) switch the tracks underneath your new passenger seat with the ones on your drivers seat 2) You may have to turn your seat belt so that the base of the belt is not in the way of your console 3) put the center console in place where u want it with bracket in place where it would be 4) bolt down bracket keeping in mind that you are going to want self tapping screws and also be cautious of what you could be drilling into 5) put console back together with bracket screwed in (depending on where u mounted the console you may need to screw down the front of the console 6) put new drivers seat in making sure that your seat belt is in the right spot. **** complications you may have: my ranger had a spot in the middle where a third passenger or my gf could sit
ha ha
but since i remove the part where they would sit and replaced it with the console i no longer needed the seat belt so i just cut it out.
NOTICE! I AM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY THING YOU DO AND YOU ARE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!
feel free to ask for pics or please ask me any questions u may have... i love my center console and i use it alot.
ENJOY!
